About The Show:

From the multi-award winning Selina Helliwell, ‘The Formidable Lizzie Boone’ is a night of drama, dark comedy and maybe a nipple tassel or two which will pull you into Lizzie’s world for a night of healing.

What do you get when you combine a wedding ring, burlesque and Pacman? Well, if you’re Lizzie Boone, you might get therapy.

Centred around a therapist’s office, this one-woman show explores the intricacies of humanity through a woman who loves vodka with lemonade and a cat called Lionel.

With lively voice-overs and a burlesque dance sequence, this play is bursting with soul and humanity.

Vision

The Vision for this Show was to separate the Mind and Situations that Lizzie Boone (Played by Selina Helliwell)  Through the Lighting States.

When She Discovers Her Passion for Burlesque, Like the Picture opposite, She is Transported into her own world where she can be her True Self, before sadly snapping back into reality.

The Show's Technical Elements were quite essential due to the fact that Helliwell was the only person On Stage, Every other character was Played by Pre-recorded Voice Notes. This required myself as the operator to Treat each Sound Cue as a Conversation. With Certain Characters having Slightly Longer Pauses Like Maria (The Therapist), Allowing Time for Boone to Contemplate what was Said during her Therapy. In Complete Contradiction, Debz (Boone's Best Friend) This character would constantly be chiming in offering her advice whilst a few drinks in.

Lizzie Boone played for the Final Time (for now) at The Square Chapel, Halifax in 2023.
